| Computer Forensics
and Recovery:
Make no mistake about this. This is a
very technical process and requires the services of an
experienced and certified examiner, as this particular
investigative service is unlike any other type of
investigation. This is a complex investigation that
involves that any data that is stored on any hard drive
of a computer be recovered properly. This is not
something that can simply be done with any software.
The truth of the matter is that many investigators
advertise this service but they are not at all familiar
with the proper techniques and oftentimes, they send the
hard drive out in order to get the recovery done
properly. Others try to use software found on the
market to try and recover the data and this does not
always work. What does happen more often than not is
that the data is disturbed and because of this, this
data can actually be unintentionally modified if not
destroyed. The hard drive itself can actually become
damaged as well, and this oftentimes makes the recovery
process even more difficult. This office and its
examiners are certified in this type of recovery and
have the certifications and training to handle these
types of recovery assignments.
Data such as deleted emails, web site
addresses, chat room addresses and transcripts, photo
images commonly known as jpeg images that appear on many
sites, important composed documents and much more all
qualify for recovery services. Many of these files are
commonly believed to have been totally deleted and
removed from the computers hard drive whether by
deletion or a system malfunction that causes the
computer to become inoperable. Contrary to the most
common belief, it is quite often possible for these bits
of information to be extracted and put back together,
similar to that of a puzzle.
Although this is a process that can be
done, the answers will not be fully determined until
after the data has been recovered and the findings are
meticulously researched. The process involved to
investigate a computer can be exceptionally time
intensive. An average of seven hours is required before
a basic assessment can be created. This assessment will
help establish if the data can be recovered and whether
the computer itself does contain any valuable and
significant information relative to the recovery and the
case at hand.
Our trained and certified investigative
personnel are prepared to assist you with this complex
type of recovery and investigation. Whether it is a
simple computer systems failure, suspecting that an
employee might be giving away confidential information
and trade secrets, or whether you suspect a spouse of
using the computer for suspicious activity. Whatever
the reasons are, this process can be used to assist you
in potentially recovering that necessary data.
